A sponge filter is our first choice for a dedicated Red Cherry nano tank.
It provides:
- Biological filtration
- Gentle flow
- Surface agitation
- Shrimplet-safe intake
- Large microbial surface area
- A future biofilm grazing surface
Hang-on-back filters can also work, but the intake should be protected with a pre-filter sponge.
Whatever filter you use, start it before the cycle and keep it running continuously.
